Description
The hand-painted bowls / the hand-painted plates (or dishes) with matching saucers / underplates, of Moroccan origin ceramic traditions.
Features that point to this:
- The combination of red (maroon/burgundy), black and white/cream
- Arabesque/floral patterns (curls, floral-like designs)
- Geometric borders with stripes and repeating patterns
- The central motif in the smaller bowl (which resembles a stylized lip/tongue or abstract plant/motif with + signs around it) is typical of much handmade Moroccan pottery from regions such as Fez, where they often use vibrant, folkloric decorations.
These types of sets are often used as:
- Small serving bowls (for olives, nuts, sauces, dips, herbs, sweets)
- Decorative objects
- Tea or coffee accessories (sometimes as an egg cup with a saucer)
They look handmade and artisanal – a typical souvenir, market bargain, or interior decoration from the Maghreb region. Beautiful traditional style!
